DigginCrate has no account, advertising SDK or analytics SDK. Your library is not uploaded to a DigginCrate server.
What is stored and where
Recommendations, ratings, favorites, notes, tags, lists and preferences are stored on your device. The main library uses app storage. Pending shared links, captured post images and shared preferences use the App Group container so the app, Share Extension and widget can work together.
Network requests
DigginCrate connects to the internet only for product functions: it may fetch the public page behind a shared link to read its title, description and image; query Apple’s public iTunes Search catalogue; use MusicKit after you choose to connect Apple Music; and download catalogue artwork. Those requests go to Apple, the shared-link site or its media host, which may process connection data under its own policies.
Apple Music and external services
An Apple Music account is not required for catalogue search. If you grant Apple Music access, MusicKit can return richer catalogue identifiers and export your favorites to an Apple Music playlist. When you choose “Play it”, DigginCrate hands you off to Apple Music, Spotify, YouTube Music, Tidal or Bandcamp, using the original link when it matches the selected service or otherwise opening a web search.
On-device recognition
Vision text recognition runs on the device. On compatible devices and system versions, Apple’s Foundation Models can analyze text on the device as an optional fallback. Shared content is not sent to a third-party AI service by DigginCrate. The app suggests candidates; you confirm before a recommendation is saved.
Notifications
If you enable Inbox notifications, DigginCrate schedules a local reminder based on items waiting in the inbox. Notification content is generated and delivered by the device; DigginCrate does not use a push-notification server.
Deletion
You can delete recommendations and lists inside the app; archived recommendations can be deleted permanently. Uninstalling the app removes its app and App Group data from that device, subject to the operating system’s normal backup and restoration behavior.
What is not sent
The current app includes no analytics SDK, advertising SDK, account system or DigginCrate backend. Your crate, notes, ratings, tags, lists and listening history are not uploaded to any server operated for DigginCrate.
